Dangerous Road Design: $3.5 Million Settlement

Ramonphoto-960x400pxA motorist struck two Crenshaw High School students in a dangerous Los Angeles crosswalk in March 2007. The accident killed a 14-year-old boy and critically injured a 20-year-old female who suffered irreparable brain damage and severe orthopedic injuries. Our firm assisted their families in their suit against the city of Los Angeles for negligent road design. City engineers repeatedly called for safety improvements but the city ignored their advice and its own studies. The case settled for $3.5 million at mediation.
